“Issues”

“Kill the occasional whore to let the other whores know who is in charge.” – the Republican strategy on “health care.”

“Kill the occasional n***** to let the other n*****s know who is in charge.” – the Republican strategy on “law enforcement.”

Every Republican “issue” is a means for downgrading one segment of society. The rubes (i.e., those who aren’t fabulously wealthy white Anglo-Saxon protestant straight men) who buy this con contribute greatly to their own oppression. The starving pauper blames his empty pockets on a starving pauper who looks a little different from himself (as directed by am impressively corpulent hand). It is the perfect con.

Well played, fascists. Well played.

Back in the World

After well over a decade of occasional dabbling in graduate work, I finally earned a graduate degree. Wrapping up a group project capstone exercise over the last months required working late 4 to 7 nights a week. I had imagined I would be able to get back to such things as regular exercise, blogging (is that even still a word?), finishing off a few work projects, visiting family, woodworking, and the like. That was not how it worked out.

Over the past several months I have, instead, struggled with motivation. It feels like lounging around doing nothing and getting flabby for an extended period after completing a marathon. I think I am now at a point, though, where I can try to get back on track as a participating member of society.

Converting to WordPress

I am finally going to start using a popular blogging software.  Now I just have to find a theme that is adequate for my needs.  As well, I need to find the original of the picture I above.  We had an afternoon of surreal skies the Thanksgiving end of December the year before last.

In theory, this move should make it easier to stay up on topics floating about the blogosphere. We shall see.
