But rarely has a politician gotten so far with only one evident immutable belief: his conviction in his own fitness for higher office.<\/cite><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>I would disagree that he has a conviction that he is fit for higher office. Rather, I have come to the conclusion that he, like Bush, Jr., feels that he <i>deserves<\/i> it.
